Eyes Eyes Eyes

Eyes

Eyes are a big thing to any look, the colour of the eyes down to the way you enhance them. I feel when I go out the best way to enhance your eyes is by giving it a simple smokey look. When I go out and about I keep to the simple brown smokey eye look ( when I bother actually doing my eye makeup LOL ) but when its something more glamerous like a party or just a night out then I normally try to mix up the colours and see what works best with what I am wearing.

Now I dont match my eye makeup to my colours too much for example if I am wearing a black dress I might decide for like a purple or deep marron smokey eye as I feel this adds just the right amount of colour.

This week I was playing around with a black smokey eye look , yes the classic look , but I decided to put my twist on it. This was pretty much just made up of taking away the extra black and acutally adding a hint of red to the crease making the colour pop even more. Sadly like a silly person I forgot to take picutres however I have literally put on some of the pictures I normally work from when I create any smokey look.

I love the use of colour and the way it looks so amazing but so simple at the same time

This of course is my brown everyday look however minus the shimmer :)
My classic black smokey eye to anyone guessing how mine might look

Finally one of my favourite the blue smokey eye. I really love this look as it reminds me of like Disney but also it looks so effortless.

Here are our top tips for creating a classy smoky eye;

  1. Start with a good primer. If you are prone to oily eye lids, skip this step. A base is essential for a smoky eye, specially one that gradients from one colour to another, as although we love the blend, we dont want any blue shadow blotching on top of that pearly cream shade! If you don't have a primer, a handy substitute is any creme eyeshadow stick, or crayon eyeliner (don't go for black if you are planning on any other smokey eye aside from black though, it will only darken the shadows you apply on top).
  2. Less is more. We are big fans on applying more as we need, this really helps in having complete control with how you want your smoky eye to look. If you gradually add on the colour, softly and slowly blending it out, you will maintain accuracy with your application and it saves you from over concentrating a colour that you then have to wipe off and ruin your masterpiece.
  3. Follow your natural eye shape. What I mean by this is for a natural look, try not to blend your shadow past the outside end of your eyebrow (e.g. point D on the diagram). This tends to lead to a clownish look, especially is you go for the brasher tones!

Enjoy

Sassy Sundays

Hey guys

So on Sundays we are planning to allow our posts to diverge from our normal themes of make-up and fashion. I've just found the coolest article as I have been procrastinating- check out the revamped looks of some of the more recognisable faces from history-

Thanks to the help of digital art, we can now see what the previous monarch Henry VIII would look like today. Sweet!

Horatio Nelson! I'm loving the meticulous addition of the metal hand.

Hipster Shakespeare- what I want to know is would he have gone Wayfarer or Clubmaster? Meh I would think Clubmaster. Either way he is rocking the messy pompadour.

Marie Antoinette looking ready for some bar hopping.

Woah foxy Lizzy! I would have thought orange on orange would clash but hey I stand corrected.

What do you guys think? Are these realistic? All I know is that I want to see more of these historical figure makeovers.
